The Empire State Building is a 102 story building in New York City. Further spreading the use of the "Empire State" nickname, it was completed in 1931 and is a landmark tourist attraction in Manhattan. It was the tallest building in the world up until another New York landmark, the World Trade Center Twin Towers, were completed in 1973, the North Tower being the reason it surpassed the Empire State Building. The building is shown in the beginning of Die Hard with a Vengeance in what started out as a typical morning in the city before Bonwit-Teller convenience store is blown up by a bomb. The building is also seen throughout the graphic novel series Die Hard: Year One.
