The Heckler & Koch G36C rifle.

The Heckler & Koch G36C is a variant of the Heckler & Koch G36 rifle. The G36 are 5.56×45mm assault rifles, designed in the early 1990s by Heckler & Koch (H&K) in Germany as a replacement for the 7.62mm G3 battle rifle. It was accepted into service with the Bundeswehr in 1997, replacing the G3. The G36 is gas-operated and feeds from a 30-round detachable box magazine or 100-round C-Mag drum magazine.

The G36C rifle was used by Thomas Gabriel's men in Live Free or Die Hard.

The last of Gabriel's henchmen armed with a G36C.

One of Gabriel's men used the Heckler & Koch G36C rifle during the assault of the apartment of hacker Matt Farrell in Camden, New Jersey. That henchman carried it fire through the wall and door of that apartment when the front door was barricaded by John McClane. After he stopped fired, McClane grabbed that man's hair through the wall, pulled him in and breaks his neck, to which he dropped the G36C rifle.

One of Gabriel's surviving henchmen carried the G36C rifle as well. He kept on guard on the HAZMET truck with hostages Farrell and Lucy McClane. When they arrived in the warehouse hideout, that man was packing up, ready to get on the plane near the warehouse. Then when McClane, who survived the attack by the F-35 Lightning fighter, kills Trey, the henchman tried to armed himself with the G36C rifle. But McClane kills with the Beretta Px4 Storm pistol before he can fire at him with it.
