John Amos (born December 27, 1939) is an American actor and former football player. He played Major Grant in Die Hard 2.

Amos also co-starred in movies, such as American Flyers, Coming to America, Lock Up and Ricochet. He also appeared in television programs, such as The West Wing, Hunter, Touched by the Angel, The A-Team, Lie to Me and The Cosby Show.
